We are proud to be a partner with Acevo for their virtual conference this year, #ACEVOFest, which takes place in the week of November 16th to November 20th.
Virtual booth
Eastside Primetimers will be running a ‘virtual booth’ at the conference from 9.30am-4.45pm each day, to talk to guests and other stakeholders.
Drop-in session: financial resilience and strategy amid COVID-19
On Tuesday November 17th at 3pm-3.45pm, Eastside Primetimers chief executive Richard Litchfield and social finance specialist Niamh Goggin will speak on financial resilience and strategy, followed by Q&A. As part of ‘Building Back Better’, every organisation will need to review their strategy and their cost and revenue model for 2021. We will explore how charities can seek to take costs out by focusing on delivering a smaller range of viable services; how to communicate the restructure process clearly, in order to maintain trust and avoid raising false hope among staff; how to establish an income diversification plan to transform the business model and take advantage of opportunities to raise new capital; and how to align the board with the executive around a strategic direction for the organisation.
Richard is the Chief Executive of Eastside Primetimers, a management consultancy that only works with charities and social enterprises. Its aim is to help social sector leaders to build the capacity and effectiveness of their organisations. It is itself a social enterprise and includes a Foundation that invests in supporting high quality professionals to transition to the sector as trustees, consultants, pro bono supporters or interims. As well as leading on the firm’s strategic development, Richard specialises in charity finance and strategy, and advises clients working in social housing, health and social care, youth services and education. He will be joined for this session by social finance specialist Niamh Goggin and St John Ambulance CEO Martin Houghton-Brown.
Niamh has worked with the National Lottery Community Fund, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Local Trust, the Barrow Cadbury Trust and Access. Niamh specialises in bridging the two worlds of charities, social enterprises, voluntary and community organisations on the one hand, and finance, investment and business development on the other. She works effectively and supportively with bankers, social investors, funders, commissioners, grassroots community organisations, start-ups and growing third sector organisations. Niamh is able to balance project development, implementation and delivery skills with research, analysis and evaluation capacity.
Martin joined St John Ambulance as chief executive in January 2018. He has a strong track record in leading the development of public service delivery and in policy change with a focus on giving people – especially young people – the chance to fulfil their potential through volunteering, education and training. While at the charity Missing People, he successfully campaigned for a new missing persons law and launched the new national telephone number for missing people. He has also held roles at the Children’s Society and served as Chair of the YMCA England & Wales board of trustees.
