Do any of these issues sound familiar?
- My Board is not really adding value
- My Board doesn’t understand the sector in which we are operating
- My Board only represents their own interests, not our organisation’s interests
- My Board is not providing the right challenge
- We need a different mix of Board members
You are invited to a roundtable on charity and not-for-profit governance, to be held in Manchester on the afternoon of Monday September 16th 2019.
This is the latest in our series of roundtables for not-for-profit organisations focusing on how best to manage your organisation’s trustee Board, and is being held in the North West in response to requests from chief executives for a more accessible location for their organisation. Our roundtable will provide a forum for around 20 senior and experienced leaders in the social sector (charities, housing associations, social enterprises, leisure trusts and similar organisations) to explore these issues and the solutions that work. This 2-hour event is designed to provide the space for ideas to be shared, under Chatham House rules.
As a director of Eastside Primetimers and our lead on governance, Brent Thomas will facilitate the roundtable with the support of a selection of our NW-based consultants. It will be held at HOME, Manchester’s charitably-run centre for contemporary theatre, film, art, music and more. If you have not been to this exciting new venue, located within a short walk of Manchester Exhibition Centre (https://homemcr.org/visit/getting-here/) then this is your chance. The roundtable will start at 15.30 and finish by 17.30, on Monday 16th September 2019.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP using the Eventbrite link below to confirm your place or contact me with any additional questions you have at brent@ep-uk.org.
